Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's westside substation.
Grand Theft--Feb. 2, 5:20 p.m., Monta Vista High School. The reporting party said her son's trumpet, valued at $561.82, was stolen from the band room at the high school.
Burglary--Feb. 8, 11:50 p.m., 21500 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. The victim's vehicle broke down, and he parked it on the 21500 block. When the victim returned two days later, he discovered an unknown suspect had broken into his vehicle. The suspect took stereo speakers, a portable CD player and a Converse Sports Bag containing two folding knives, a fixed blade and a billy club.
Petty Theft--Feb. 8, 8:24 p.m., 21200 block of Rainbow Road. Sometime on Feb. 8 around 7:30 p.m., a suspect pried the victim's liner out of the bed of his truck with an unknown tool. A Ford dealer valued the bed liner at around $300 new, and the damage to the truck was estimated around $1,000.
Forging Signature--Feb. 8, 6 p.m., 21200 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. The victim unknowingly left his credit card at the De Anza campus book store. The suspect used the card at several locations without the victim's permission. The victim was able to contact a witness at a location where his card was used. The victim received a description of the suspect. The victim located the suspect and called security who then called the sheriff's office. The suspect was booked into county jail.
