The Cupertino CourierRotarians get crabby at their annual fundraiserBy Linda Walker and Barbara Koppel If you like crab, you missed a great fundraiser: the Rotary's annual crab feed. Everyone said this was the best crab they ever had. Everyone was crabby that night! More than 350 adults attended, along with about 50 local high school kids who earned money for their InterAct Club (the high school service club involved with Rotary). Pat and Dino Coppe sold 80 tickets to their nearest and dearest friends, and Pat Lake brought her own centerpiece for her group--everyone had their own way of celebrating. Among the throng were Al and Sharon Tyler, Orrin and Carolyn Mahoney, Alan and Mary Mello, Jim and Kim Yglesias, Dewey and Beverly Long, and Sonja Shurr. Duffers itching to get back to beautiful Deep Cliff are Hilma Biegler, Sylvia Dunn, Doris Sedgwick, Donna Bonasera, Marge McManus, Lou Nelson, M.T. Taughinbaugh and Jo Vollers. ... Donene and Larry Harrison are busting at the seams because their daughter, Jennay, married Dr. Kevin Gunderson at the beautiful mission at Santa Clara University. The folks from Cupertino celebrating at Quinlan Center were Betty Thomsen, Barbara Davis, Grandpa Leonard Ray, Aunt Martha Ray, bro Steven Harrison, Judy and Joe Tembrock, John and Rosemary Farley, Mamie Liu and Robert and Tracy Sheffer, Christina Chan and Betsy Obearson. May you have at least 60 years of bliss! ... Teresa Benetti Schenk, a resident for 40 years, passed away Feb. 21, after a valiant fight against cancer. She was a wonderful influence for her grandchildren and considered an angel by many. She is missed by all. ... John Plungy, a former mayor, hit the big 65 on March 7. Friends can still send cards to 4598 W. Lake Circle, Littleton, CO 80123, or better yet, bombard him emails at bplungy@ jeffco.k12.co.us. His wife, Barbara, can't afford to fly us there; this is the best alternative. He gave up the wonderful (?) weather in California to play in the snow in cold Colorado. ...
