    Sheriff's Report

    The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

    Delay, Obstruct, Resist Officer--March 2, 2 p.m., 21300 block of Homestead Road. The suspect refused to return to local high school when directed to by a deputy. The youth ran away, jumping fences until a motorcycle officer caught him.

    Auto Theft, DUI, Resisting Arrest, Hit and Run--March 2, 1:55 a.m., 6900 block of Melvin Drive in San Jose. A vehicle made several turns to lose a police car, then went through the fence at local elementary school, driving onto the playground. When the vehicle attempted to leave by crashing through another section of fence it became entangled. The driver attempted to escape on foot, but a deputy apprehended him in the playground. He smelled of alcohol. The car had been stolen from a local dealership.

    Auto Burglary--March 4, 10:55 a.m., 21200 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. A car in a local community college parking lot was broken into and property taken.

    Battery on a Cohabitant, Violation of a Restraining Order--Feb. 27, 9:30 p.m., 10500 block of S. Foothill Boulevard. The suspect and the victim live together. The suspect pushed the victim, causing her to run into a wall. The victim has a prior restraining order against the suspect stating he may not annoy or strike her.

    Burglary--Feb. 28, 10:35 a.m., 21200 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. A personal computer was stolen from local community college.
