Study on red-light runners to begin

Since February, a traffic camera has been placed at the intersection of De Anza and Stevens Creek boulevards to track the number of red-light runners. That single camera--which will be moved to three other intersections in the next two months--will decide the fate of Cupertino's red light enforcement. The camera will be used to gather data on how many drivers run lights in Cupertino. Once the study is complete, the city will investigate the financial implications of installing a camera-ticketing system or hiring a full-time traffic officer.   More
