    Cupertino Symphonic Band

    The Cupertino Symphonic Band presents its Spring Concert on March 25, at 3 p.m. at the Quinlan Community Center, 10185 N. Stelling Road, Cupertino. The concert, led by conductor Robert Gomez, will feature horn virtuoso Scott Hartman. The Cupertino Symphonic Band's Jazz Band will also play several selections in the big band style.     Volunteers needed for Sheriff's programs

    The sheriff's office community and crime prevention programs seeks volunteers for a number of tasks, including assisting residents with neighborhood watch programs, maintaining contact with seniors in the new senior registry program, and data input.     Historical Society Meeting

    The Cupertino Historical Society will host a membership meeting on March 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Quinlan Community Center's Cupertino Room, 10185 N. Stelling Road. The meeting will feature a short talk by Juan Valdez, descendent of Juan De Anza and a local historian, and music by El Conjuntunto California and harpists. The Tuesday meetings begin with a potluck at 6:30 p.m. Call 408.973.1495.

    Children's Fear and Anxiety Workshop

    De Anza College will host a workshop for children, ages 6 to 16, and their parents, addressing the issue of children's fear and anxiety on March 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Topics for the workshop include fear of the dark and of being alone, feeling scared or anxious, fear of germs or dirt, and more. Cost is $65, plus a $14 materials fee, payable to the instructor, Dr. Howard Liebgold. Call 408.864.8817.

    De Anza Concert Series

    The 75 voices of the combined De Anza Choirs will perform Handel's, "O Sing Unto the Lord" with the De Anza Orchestra on March 22, at 7:30 p.m. at Flint Center. Another concert is set for March 25, at 4 p.m. at the Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church, 728 W. Fremont Ave. Tickets for are $7 for general admission, $5 for students and seniors.

    Union Benefit Concert

    The Union Church of Cupertino will host a benefit concert on March 24, at 4 p.m. featuring the De Anza Women's Chorus, the Union Church Sanctuary Choir and the Cupertino Senior Center Choir. Admission is free, but offerings will be collected for the homeless shelter. The Union Church of Cupertino is located at 20900 Stevens Creek Blvd.

    Hatha Yoga in Cupertino

    A new Hatha Yoga class is now being offered Fridays from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Aikido and Yoga Center, 7335 Bollinger Road, Cupertino. The class is suitable for all levels and ages. Cost is $12 per session. Call 650.966.9620.
