There, they took the hotel safe and left through the lobby door. About $1,500 to $1,700 in cash and $9,000 in checks were inside the safe. There are no suspects.
Vandalism--March 8, 9:00 p.m., Monta Vista High School, 21840 McClellan Road. Someone drove across the grassy area in the quad in front of the school, damaging the grass, and deliberately blocked a storm drain with sandbags, causing partial flooding in the quad.
Annoying phone calls--March 9, 11:05 a.m., 10800 block of Santa Teresa Court. A man said he had been receiving annoying hang-up calls for the last week from a woman he met on the Internet in September. The woman came to visit the man in December, and the man later told her he wanted to end the relationship.
Throwing object at a vehicle, causing injury--March 9, 2:56 p.m., 21530 Stevens Creek Boulevard. A San Jose man walked into a store to buy an energy drink. When he found out it cost $2.49 plus tax, he decided he didn't want to buy it and left it on the counter. An employee asked him to put it back, but the man walked out of the store. Then, the employee grabbed the can, followed the customer out and hurled it at the delivery truck he was sitting in, breaking the passenger side window. The customer and the driver of the van were both injured by flying glass.
Grand theft--March 9, 8:10 p.m., 10123 N. Wolfe Road. Two suspects walked in to a McDonalds and placed an order. They then walked down a hallway near the restrooms and one suspect climbed up on a handrail and started removing a security camera from the ceiling. When the manager noticed what was happening, the suspects took off with the camera. There was little information about the suspects.
Possible drug sales--March 10, 1:30 p.m., The Oaks, 21265 Stevens Creek Boulevard. The owner of the Coffee Society cafe called deputies to report possible narcotics sales by employees. He said he'd seen suspicious transactions involving large amounts of money and small objects he suspected might be drugs. He also said he was concerned because some of the parties appeared very nervous. The Sheriff's Department increased patrol checks in the area.
Residential burglary--March 10, 8:10 p.m., 7500 block of Rainbow Drive. A family left their house at around 5:30 p.m. and returned at about 10 p.m. to find the home had been burglarized. The suspect entered through an open rear bedroom window and took cash. The victim reported that some jewelry may have been taken, but he didn't know for sure because his wife wasn't there.
