    Nominations open for entrepreneur

    Nominations are open for the Ernst & Young 2002 Entrepreneur of the Year award for Northern California. A nominee must be an owner/manager primarily responsible for the recent performance of a company or organization that is at least two years old.

    Criteria of the selected recipients are based on a number of factors, including financial growth, as well as growth in number of employees, the story behind the success of the entrepreneur, and unique characteristics that set them apart from other competitors.

    The deadline is April 5 and online nomination forms can be downloaded at www.ey.com/us/eoy. Questions can be answered by calliing Julie Eisenhauer at 408.947.4906.

    City has culturally conscious tips

    The city of Cupertino has some cross-cultural tips on its website for residents wanting to make cultural connections. Tips include what may or may not be appropriate regarding socializing, greetings, gift-giving, funerals and other issues from various countries, including. Visit www.cupertino.org and look under the "What's New" heading for a complete list of cultural do's and don'ts.

    Big Bunny Fun Run coming March 30

    The Cupertino Parks and Recreation Department is holding its annual Big Bunny Fun Run March 30 for participants of all ages. The 5K (3.1 miles) run or the 1.5-mile walk begins and ends at city hall with a starting time of 9 a.m., and awards will be given to the top finishers.     FUHSD hosts crab feed

    The Fremont Union High Schools Foundation is partnering with the Rotary Club of Cupertino and the Foothill-De Anza Colleges Foundation for a Crab Feed fundraising event April 5 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at De Anza College, Hinson Campus Center. The proceeds will be used to provide the Digital Divide support for FUHSD.

    The buffet will feature pasta, salad, bread, and, of course, cold crab. There will also be live and silent auctions and prize drawings.

    Tickets are $30 per person and include parking and are available at all Fremont Union High Schools and the FUHSD Educational Services Center. Contact Mily Tsou at 408.447.6741.
