    Sheriff's Report


    The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

    Residential Burglary--March 13, 4:45 p.m., 10000 block of Culbertson Drive. Unknown suspects entered a locked residence and searched and ransacked all of its rooms, taking cash, credit cards, jewelry, laptop computers and a digital camera.

    Petty Theft--March. 13, 2:45 p.m., 10000 block of N. Wolfe Road. Store security observed two females in the infant department randomly selecting merchandise. They took the items to a fitting room and concealed them in a department store bag and backpack. They exited the store without paying for the items and were stopped outside and placed under citizen's arrest.

    Burglary (Commercial)--March 12, 3:30 p.m., 10000 block of N. Wolfe Road. A manager of a toy store observed three males carrying several department store bags containing merchandise. When the manager approached them, they dropped the bags and left the store. The bags contained two Sony PlayStation systems and three Nintendo GameCubes. The manager then discovered that an office door had been pried open where the recovered merchandise had been stored, but four systems were still missing.

    Grand Theft--March 12, 4 p.m., 20000 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. A manager at a local auto dealership mistakenly left the day's receipts--cash, checks and deposit slips--in a drawer of a desk instead of in a safe. The next morning, the receipts and checks were found, but $6,225 in cash was missing.

    Grand Theft--March 11, 5 p.m., 6000 block of Shadygrove Court. The victim's house had flooded and many items were placed on the front yard to dry. Several of the items were taken and the total value of the loss was approximately $9,100.

    Burglary (Auto)--March 9, 3:35 a.m., at the intersection of Beardon and Valley Green Drive. The victim had parked his vehicle in the street while visiting some friends. When he returned he found the two windows on the passenger side of the vehicle had been broken and the car stereo had been removed and taken.

    Residential Burglary--March 8, 10:05 a.m., 22000 block of Voss Avenue. An unknown suspect entered an unoccupied duplex through an unlocked garage window. The duplex was being remodeled and several tools and plumbing items were taken valued at approximately $580.

    Burglary (Auto)--March 8, 5 a.m., 10000 block of N. Foothill Boulevard. The victim had parked her vehicle in front of an apartment complex. Upon her return, she discovered the driver's side window had been broken and a compact disc storage case that contained approximately 24 CDs had been taken.
