    Tennis nationals

    Three tennis players from the Los Gatos Swim & Racquet Club earned berths in the recent national tournament in Palm Springs.

    Lejla Hodzic of Cupertino, Kareem Berdai of Los Gatos and Ashley Lipton of Saratoga, all among the top ranked 18-year-olds in Northern California, competed against the top players in the nation at the tourney.


    Irish tourney

    The sixth annual Irish American Heritage Society (IAHS) Golf Tournament will be held on May 20 at the Almaden Golf and Country Club.

    Saratoga's Deirdre Gallagher, a former tutor for Bing Crosby's children, is a member of the organizing committee for the IAHS tournament, which has raised nearly $500,000 for scholarships, youth programs and economic development throughout Ireland.

    The Shamrock Foursome golf package includes golf, lunch and an awards dinner for four for $1,500. For more information, call 408.445.1364.


    Football sign-ups

    Diabetes golf

    The 10th annual Diabetes Society of Santa Clara Valley Golf Classic will be played on June 4 at the Cinnabar Hills Golf Club in San Jose.

    The scramble tournament will begin at noon, following registration and a special clinic offered by Cinnabar pros. A silent auction, reception and awards dinner will follow the tournament. Lunch will also be provided. The entry fee is $225. For more information, call 408.287.3785, ext. 124.
