The Cupertino CourierSheriff's ReportThe following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation. Grand theft--May 10, 4:45 p.m., 1000 block of E. Estates Drive. Two men and a woman entered a sewing store. As the clerk was helping another customer, she noticed the three looking at the most expensive sewing machine in the store. When the clerk was finished, she noticed the three people were gone, along with the machine, valued at $4,299. Driving under the influence--May 10, 8:25 p.m., Saich Way and Alves Drive. Deputies stopped a vehicle for having a front flat tire that was tearing up the roadway. The vehicle matched the description of a vehicle involved in an accident and a disturbance with other motorists on Stevens Creek Boulevard. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence. The passenger was arrested for being drunk in public. Bicycle accident--May 10, 10 p.m., 22700 block of Canyon View Circle. A man fell from his mountain bike and was injured. He was transported to Kaiser Santa Clara Hospital by paramedics. SheriffÕs deputies recovered his bike and took it to a fire station to be kept until the man could return for it. Residential burglary--May 12, 2 p.m., 20500 block of McClellan Road. A woman reported that someone broke into her locked garage and stole some tools. Felony vandalism--May 14, 12:15 p.m., 10100 block of N. Wolfe Road. Suspects used some sort of tool to scratch graffiti into a shopping center mirror. Misappropriation of found property--May 14, 2 p.m., 15000 block of Montebello Road. A woman gave a gold watch worth $2,000 and a sapphire ring worth $4,000 to her boyfriend to take care of while she went on a trip. The boyfriend put the jewelry into his pants pocket. A laundry service picked up his laundry, but no jewelry was returned. Burglary--May 15, 8:30 a.m., 19800 block of Portal Plaza. A man locked his garage in the evening. The next morning he found the lock cut off. A toolbox and an air compressor were missing. Vandalism--May 15, 9 a.m., 20803 Alves Drive. Someone left graffiti on the sign and other spots at the Northwest YMCA. The tagging resembled gang graffiti.
