    N-E-W-S Shark

Among the many sharks taking up temporary residence in downtown San Jose for the public art exhibit SharkByte Art is this one recently installed by Sam Carabajal (left) and Walter Jones. Dubbed N-E-W-S Shark, the yellow and silver fish was incorporated into a weathervane design by San Jose artist Carlos Perez. The weathervane uses the initials for North, East, West and South, forming the acronym 'news.' This classy shark's sponsor, appropriately enough is Silicon Valley Community NEWSpapers, and he joins nearly 100 denizens of the deep in various locations in downtown San Jose through October. NEWS Shark can be found in Park Center Plaza. The Cupertino Courier is a part of the Silicon Valley Community Newspapers family.
