    Sheriff's Report

    The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

    Auto Burglary--Nov. 2, 4:25 p.m., De Anza College. At around 4:45 p.m., the victim, heading back to his car in Parking Lot A, heard his car alarm sounding. Getting closer, he saw two suspects run from the car, get in a white Acura Legend and head off eastbound on Stevens Creek Boulevard. He found his driver door, hood and trunk ajar. Stereo equipment was ripped out of the dash and the CD player's face plates were missing.

    Auto Burglary--Nov. 3, Phil Lane at Finch Ave. Sometime during the night of Oct. 29, someone broke the front passenger window of the victim's brand new Honda Accord, then made off with a camera bag containing a still camera and a video camera. The unknown suspect also rifled through a briefcase, scattering papers around the interior, but didn't steal anything else.

    Grand Theft--Nov. 3, 20300 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. Someone stole two Pentium 111 computers (Valued at $2,000 each) from a business sometime between May and November.

    Recovered Stolen Vehicle--Nov. 4, 12:30 p.m., 15101 Montebello Road. An administrator from Montebello School called Sheriffs to report a car in a ravine about 200 yards from the school. The car had been reported stolen on Oct. 18 by Los Gatos/Monte Sereno police. The car was recovered from its resting place in a densely overgrown area about 150 feet down an embankment below Montebello Road.

    Possession of methamphetamine, driving under the influence, unlicensed driver--Nov. 4, 2:49 a.m., Homestead Road. After stopping a Jeep for a traffic violation, a deputy found the driver showing signs of being under the influence of stimulants. About 1 gram of crystal meth was found in the Jeep. The driver was arrested and subsequently found to be unlicensed.
