Twelve-year-old Elizabeth Naumann of Cupertino has been vaulting since she was four, an age at which most kids are just starting to get on bicycles. With year-round practice at Garrod Farms in Saratoga and six annual competitions, she's well on her way to making a name for herself in the centuries-old sport that some describe as 'gymnastics on horseback.'
