Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Auto Theft—Feb. 23, 2 p.m., Wolfe Road. The victim reported that he parked his car in the parking lot of a local shopping mall and went shopping. When he returned after one hour, he could not find his car. He said he locked the car and had the only keys to the vehicle. There is no information about the car thief.

Auto Burglary—Feb. 22, 12:45 p.m., Valley Green Drive. The victim parked his pickup truck in his apartment complex's parking lot. On Feb. 22, he discovered that someone had pried open the rear sliding glass window at the back of his truck and stolen his AM/FM CD-MP3 stereo tuner from the dashboard. A police officer gathered some fingerprints from the glass. The person is unidentified.

Petty Theft—Feb. 21, 6 p.m., Newcastle Drive. An unknown person took a garbage can from the front of a residence. The value of the garbage can is about $20.

Grand Theft—Feb. 21, 9 a.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard. An unknown person broke into a local company and stole approximately 11 laptop computers during the night. The incident happened when a few employees were still in the building. The police have lifted some latent prints. There is no one in custody.

Burglary—Feb. 20, 6:30 a.m., Valley Green Drive. An unknown person entered the victim's unlocked storage space and stole motor oil, tools and an electric heater. The total value of the lost items is about $100. There is no one in custody.

Vandalism—Feb. 18, 7:50 a.m., Plum Tree Lane. Sometime during the night of Feb. 18, someone used a large rock to break the rear window of the victim's car, which was parked on the street in front of his residence. The cost to replace the window is about $500. There is no additional information about the incident.

Burglary—Feb. 15, 9:30 p.m., Wolfe Road. An unknown person broke the passenger window of the victim's car and took her purse from the front seat. The total value of the purse and its contents is approximately $200. The thief is still at large.
