First Unity Parade is a hit
Children from some 24 schools marched in Cupertino's first Lunar Unity Parade. There were marching bands, dancers, Sheriffs on horses, police in kilts playing bagpipes, delegates from Cupertino's sister city Hsinchu, Taiwan. There were dragons and a deafening round of firecrackers and much more. At Memorial Park, attendees watched exotic dances from countries like Turkey and Tahiti as well as a marital arts demonstration. Onlookers heard the Regnart Elementary School chorus sing and Monta Vista Jazz combo play. There was food from Thailand, Persia, Indian, Mexico, Turkey and China and booths with colorful displays from places like Russia, Switzerland, Great Britian, Peru, China and more. At dusk it all came to a tired happy end.
