Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Grand Theft—March 10, 9:15 a.m., Wolfe Road. Sometime between March 3 and 7, an unknown person stole a computer from a local financial institution located on the second floor of a local shopping mall. There is no additional information about the suspect.

Burglary—March 9, 3:15 p.m., Judy Avenue. The victim parked and locked his vehicle in the alley behind a local bar/lounge for two consecutive nights. When he returned, he found the rear window on the passenger side of the vehicle broken. Someone had stolen his car stereo and amplifier. The police were unable to lift any latent prints. There are no other leads on the suspect.

Petty Theft—March 8, 6:50 p.m., Bandley Drive. On March 8, at approximately 6:30 p.m., two people walked into a local grocery store. They picked up a 12-pack of beer and then exited the store without paying for the item. Both people were under age 21. A store employee confronted them and placed them under citizen's arrest. One of the suspects fled from the scene.

Burglary—March 8, 5:45 p.m., De Anza Boulevard. A man entered a local grocery store with the intent to steal alcoholic beverages. He used a shopping cart as a decoy and put two bottles of alcoholic beverages into his pants. He then exited the store without paying for the items. A police officer apprehended him and booked him into the main jail.

Vandalism—March 6, 8:10 p.m., Finch Avenue. The victim parked his vehicle at a parking lot at a local high school and went to sports practice. When he returned to his car about an hour later, he found the rear window of the vehicle smashed out. The victim estimated the repair costs to be more than $400. Nothing was removed from the vehicle.

Grand Theft—March 6, 10 a.m., Colby Avenue. The victim reported that an unknown person stole a handheld PC and 10 hockey game tickets from a drawer in his house. The victim said he held an open house on March 1 and 2. There are no latent prints. The burglar is still at large.
