Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Burglary—April 6, 4:45 p.m., Wolfe Road. At approximately 3:25 p.m. on April 6, the suspect entered a local department store. He was wearing a jacket with a modified lining and carrying a pair of pliers. He stole $137 worth of merchandise by cutting a security tag and concealing the merchandise in the lining of his jacket. He then exited the store without paying for any of the items he concealed. The suspect was arrested and booked into the main jail in San Jose.

Auto Burglary—April 5, 2 p.m., Imperial Avenue. The victim reported that someone had broken into his vehicle and stolen his stereo faceplate. There was no sign of forced entry to the vehicle. The value of the stolen item was estimated at $200. There is no evidence or witness to the incident.

Vandalism—April 5, 1:20 p.m., Byrne Avenue. The victim parked his convertible in the driveway at his residence on April 4. The next day, he found a 5- to 7-inch cut in the black canvas roof of his vehicle. The cut penetrated two separate roof layers. The perpetrator did not enter the vehicle or steal any personal belongings. The victim estimated the repair costs to be around $2,000. There is no information about the suspect.

Grand Theft—April 4, 7:40 p.m., Homestead Road. The suspect is an employee at a local store. While showing a customer jewelry at the jewelry counter, she concealed numerous items in her shirt. The total worth of the jewelry taken was more than $850. All the property was recovered, and the suspect was booked in the main jail in San Jose.

Criminal Threats—April 4, 4 a.m., Regnard Canyon Drive. Several subjects showed up for a party on April 4. Since they were not invited, the host asked them to leave. Approximately an hour later the subjects returned to the house. Again the host told them to leave. While she was talking to one of them, another subject entered the house through an open door. When she demanded that he leave, he told her, "I have an AK47 and I know where you live."
