Great Race results
The race may have been run from Saratoga to Los Gatos, but Cupertino was well represented on the victory stand in the April 6 running of The Great Race.
Marisa Daniel of Cupertino finished 10th overall among female competitors. She covered the 4-mile course in 26:13.7, also good for fourth in the women's 1929 age group.
Cupertino's Alexandra Greco finished in 29:45.5 to nail second in the girls 1418 class, and Johnway Yih of Cupertino ran 27:02.3 to finish fourth in the boys 13-and-under age division.
AYSO sign-ups May 3
Cupertino AYSO Region 35 will hold soccer registration for the fall season on May 3, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Creekside Recreation Center, 10455 Miller Ave. The program is open to players ages 4 1/2 and older and the fee is $98 per player. For more information, visit www.ayso35.org.
Cupertino track meet
Bethel Lutheran School of Cupertino will host its fourth annual invitational track and field meet on May 3, 9 a.m., on the Cupertino High School track. The meet is open to children in the first through sixth grades. For more information, call 408.252.8512, ext. 118.
Girls soccer tryouts
A girls under-14/under-15 Class 1 soccer team in the De Anza League will hold tryouts each Tuesday and Thursday at Jollyman Park in Cupertino. The team is coached by Los Altos High School coach Roberto Magellan, who played college soccer at the University of San Francisco.
