Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Commercial Burglary—May 4, 9:50 a.m., Wolfe Road. A man entered the laundry room of a local hotel and opened a vending machine lock box with a fabricated key. He took about $136 in coins. A sheriff's officer apprehended him and a hotel employee positively identified him to be responsible for the burglary. Auto Burglary—May 3, 2:35 p.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard. The victim parked and locked her vehicle before going into a local school to pick up her daughter. She was away for approximately seven minutes. When she returned to her car, she found the front passenger window broken and her purse taken. The purse contained her cellular phone and $200 in gift checks.

Petty Theft—May 2, 4:20 p.m., Poppy Way. The victim said someone stole her cellular phone while she was shopping at a local grocery store on April 5. On May 1, she received her phone bill and discovered that several calls had been made with her stolen phone. The estimated value of the cellular phone is $100.

Grand Theft—May 2, 1 p.m., Wolfe Road. An unknown person took a laptop computer from the victim's clothing store at a local shopping center. There is no sign of forced entry into the business. The victim does not have a video camera in her store.

Attempted Grand Theft—April 29, 4 p.m., Palo Vista Road. Two men were remodeling a home, and one walked out to the backyard and saw a man carrying away their tile saw. After the witness confronted the man, he apologized and said he needed money to buy food.

Criminal Threats—April 23, 8 a.m., Homestead Road. An unknown person sent two threatening and sexual emails to a teacher at a local high school, using her work email address.
