The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.
Possession of Burglary Tools, Alcohol—May 25, 10:15 p.m., Valley Green Drive. An alert citizen called 911 and reported that a couple of juvenile boys were tampering with parked cars in a parking lot on Valley Green Drive. Deputy officers responded to the call and arrested the two juvenile subjects for possessing burglary tools and alcohol.
Residential Burglary—May 21, 10:45 p.m., Merriman Road. At around 8:30 p.m. on May 21, an unknown person entered a home on Merriman Road through an unlocked sliding glass door. A visiting family friend of the victim's was inside the home at the time. She said that she heard the dogs in the backyard becoming agitated at around 8:30 p.m., but she did not go to investigate. Once the unknown person was inside the home, he forced entry into a locked bedroom and stole checks and credit cards.
Auto Burglary—May 17, 3:20 p.m., Tantau Avenue. An unknown person smashed the window of a parked and locked truck and stole the detachable faceplate to the in-dash stereo system. The person left behind a glove.
Auto Burglary—May 16, 8:25 a.m., Valley Green Drive. An unknown person smashed the side window of a parked and locked vehicle and stole a portable CD player, music CDs, a laptop bag and a lunchbox cooler. All of these items had been placed in plain view.
