Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Vandalism—July 1, 7:35 p.m., John Way. A woman said that she and her neighbor have been arguing over the property line for the last two years. She said the neighbor has repeatedly kicked over her potted plants and thrown a large bag of weeds onto her property. The neighbor said the woman started the arguments by cutting down the bush between their homes without her input. The woman is willing to have another bush planted between the homes if it can be done properly.

Grand Theft—July 1, 5 p.m., Terra Bella Drive. An unknown person entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a purse that was on the floor in the front passenger area and under the center console. The purse contained $2,130 in property and cash. There is no physical evidence at the scene. At the time of the theft, the vehicle was parked on the street in front of the owner's residence.

Vehicle Vandalism—July 1, 2:20 p.m., Suisun Drive. Between the hours of 10 and 11 p.m. on June 30, an unknown person poured one gallon of concentrated liquid cleaner/ degreaser into and on a car parked on the street in front of the owner's house. The car's windows had been left rolled down.

Mail Theft—June 30, 4:15 p.m., Natoma Road. An unknown person stole the mail from a mailbox sometime during the afternoon of June 30. The victim said he had put five pieces of mail in the mailbox and later found them missing.

Attempted Identity Theft—June 30, 1:30 p.m., Betlin Avenue. A man reported that a young woman called him and attempted to get him to accept a credit card promotion. The man refused and called his credit card company, which denied having such an employee and advised him to call the authorities and file a report. There were no charges on the credit card. The man's credit company is following up on the incident.

Vehicle Burglary—June 30, 7:30 a.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard. While a vehicle was parked overnight in a carport at an apartment complex, an unknown person shattered the vehicle's right-side window and took a canvas briefcase containing a calculator and pager from the right passenger seat. The cost of repair for the window is approximately $300.
