The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.
Petty Theft—Aug. 3, 4:05 p.m., Wolfe Road. A woman went into the dressing room of a department store and concealed several articles of clothing in her purse. She left the department store without paying for these items that were estimated at $152.00. She was cited and released at the scene.
Grand Theft—Aug. 3, 10:50 a.m., Creston Drive. The victim gave her social security number, date of birth, and California driver's license number to a woman who claimed that she needed the information to process a mortgage refinance. Later that day, the woman went to a bank in Auburn and successfully withdrew $2,300 from the victim's checking account. An additional attempt to withdraw more funds at the bank's Rocklin branch was unsuccessful.
Petty Theft—Aug. 2, 3:10 p.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard. Around 3 p.m., a woman parked her vehicle at the pumps of a gas station. The windows were rolled down and the doors unlocked. Her purse was left on the front passenger seat. A man—the only person at the pumps beside the woman—put his hand through the open passenger window and removed the woman's purse. The man dropped a few items from inside the purse on the ground and fled the scene with the purse.
Domestic Violence—Aug. 1, 10:15 p.m., Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View. A Cupertino woman was beaten by her boyfriend and pushed down to the ground at least three times outside a movie theater. The woman's boyfriend was arrested and booked into the jail.
