Silicon Valley leaders share experience

Silicon Valley leaders in health care, banking, nanotechnology and information technology will share their expertise and predict industry and employment trends at a free forum at De Anza College on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

Students, faculty and the general public are invited to the facilitated panel discussion titled "Connecting with Industries' Leaders" at the Hinson Campus Center, Conference Rooms A and B.

Panelists include Raquel González, market president and consumer banking market executive for Bank of America, and Sue Murphy, director of the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

The panel discussion will focus on how the executives got to where they are today, what obstacles they overcame, where they project the growth of their industry to be and where local jobs in their industry will be in the next three to five years.

Introductions and a panel discussion will take place between 6 and 7:30 p.m. The audience will have the chance to ask questions between 7:30 and 7:50 p.m., and a wrap-up will conclude the forum by 8 p.m.

Armenian church to host annual food fair

St. Andrew Armenian Church of Cupertino is hosting its annual Armenian ethnic food fair on Nov. 15.

There will be traditional Armenian cuisine such as kebabs, rice pilaf, cheese boureg and grape leaf sarma. There will also be entertainment and a variety of booths.

The fair will start at 11 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. at the church, 11370 S. Stelling Road.

Admission and parking are free.
