The District 44 Little League is holding sign-ups for its Challenger Division, a program designed for players ages 7­17 who are physically or mentally disabled. Registration is free and the season runs from March to June.

The Cupertino American Little League will hold sign-ups for players ages 5­18 interested in playing baseball or softball in the 2004 season.

Boys and girls can register on Dec. 13, 11 a.m.­2 p.m.; Dec. 18, 6:30­8:30 p.m.; Jan. 3 and 10, 11 a.m.­2 p.m.; and Jan. 7, 6:30­8:30 p.m. Registration will be held at Cicero's Pizza, 6138 Bollinger Road (next to the Safeway at Miller) in San Jose.

Resolution Run

Runners can start the new year off right and help the Los Gatos High School Track Fund in the process by taking part in the annual Los Gatos Resolution Run on New Year's Day.

The 5-mile run begins at 9 a.m. on Jan. 1 on the Los Gatos High School track and the course goes up to Lexington Reservoir and back. The registration fee of $25 ($30 after Dec. 28) includes a long sleeve T-shirt and the fee is $10 ($15 after Dec. 28) without the T-shirt.
