San Jose police are asking for help in identifying a man who has robbed eight banks throughout the South Bay since May.
The latest case occurred on Dec. 11 when the man robbed a Washington Mutual branch on El Camino Real in Mountain View.
The series of crimes began on May 12 when he robbed the Summit National Bank on Tully Road in San Jose. On July 28, he robbed the General Bank branch on N. De Anza Boulevard in Cupertino and Washington Mutual Bank on Saratoga Avenue in San Jose. On Dec. 1, he robbed two more banks in San Jose, Cathay Bank on Tully Road and World Savings on Stevens Creek Boulevard.
The man is described as Asian or Hispanic, in his 30s, about 6 feet tall and 180 to 200 pounds. He is clean-shaven and has dark hair. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeve shirt or sweater with blue jeans. He's been seen wearing a black knit cap during most of the robberies.
