The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.
Residential Burglary—Feb. 8, between 2:45 and 6:45 p.m., 19900 block of Rodrigues Avenue. No one was home when an unknown person(s) entered by prying open a kitchen window. They stole cash and jewelry.
Attempted Residential Burglary—Feb. 7, 11:30 a.m., 21500 block of Rainbow Drive. A resident discovered fresh pry marks on the sliding glass door. It appeared that someone was unable to gain entry into the home.
Auto Burglary—Feb. 7, 10:45 a.m., 19500 block of Pruneridge Avenue. An unknown person(s) entered a locked vehicle by smashing the driver's side window and stole the in-dash stereo.
Misuse of a Handicapped Parking Placard—Feb. 6, 4:50 p.m., 20600 block of Homestead Road. A deputy observed a vehicle parked in a handicap stall, displaying a valid placard. When the driver returned, the deputy discovered that the registered owner of the placard was not present. The driver was cited and released for misuse of the permit.
Stolen License Plate—Feb. 6, noon, 20500 block of Blossom Lane. An unknown person(s) removed both license plates off a parked vehicle.
Residential Burglary—Feb. 6, between 10:30 a.m. and 7:25 p.m., 10100 block of Portal Avenue. No one was home when an unknown person(s) entered by prying open a sliding glass door. Jewelry and a laptop computer were stolen.
