Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Auto Burglary—March 13, between 3:30 and 7:30 p.m., on Homestead Road. An unknown person(s) smashed a side window of this parked and locked vehicle. They stole a wallet from the center console.

Auto Burglary—March 13, between 1:15 and 2:30 p.m., on Miller Avenue. An unknown person(s) smashed a side window of a parked, locked and alarmed vehicle. They stole a purse that was hidden under a cover in the backseat area.

Auto Vandalism—March 12, 11:45 p.m., Sterling Boulevard and Barnhard Avenue. An unknown person(s) smashed the window of a parked vehicle.

Auto Burglary—March 12, 7:30 a.m., 19500 block of Pruneridge Avenue. Sometime during the night, an unknown person(s) smashed the side window of this vehicle and stole the victim's Daytimer that was in plain view.

Under the Influence—March 10, 1:50 a.m., Stevens Creek and De Anza boulevards. A midnight unit was on routine patrol when the deputy observed a man standing on the bus bench. The man was waiving his arms as if to flag down the deputy. The deputy stopped, got out of his car and the man immediately challenged the officer to fight him. The 23-year-old man from Cupertino was taken into custody and booked into the county jail.

Auto Burglary—March 9, 7:30 a.m., 10900 block of Northview Square. Sometime during the night, an unknown person(s) entered this vehicle by an unknown means. There were no signs of a forced entry. They stole a laptop computer and other items from the trunk.
