The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.
Auto burglary—
April 10, 7:40 p.m., 10800 block of N. Stelling Road. An unknown person(s) entered a locked vehicle by breaking a side window and stole a purse from the front seat.
Assault and battery—
April 10, 12:30 a.m., 1400 block of S. De Anza Boulevard. The 18 year-old male victim and his friends stopped at a fast food establishment and found it closed. The victim began to urinate behind a trash bin in the parking lot when he was beaten by four or five other boys who shouted racial slurs during the attack. The victim sustained a swollen eye and a cut on his nose. His friends drove to a nearby hospital, where emergency room staff notified the sheriff's office of the attack. The investigating deputy found that the victim and his friends could not provide details about the event.
Misuse of a handicap placard—
April 9, 8:30 p.m., 10300 block of N. Wolfe Road. The driver of this vehicle parked in a handicap stall and used a handicap placard belonging to someone else who was not in the vehicle.

April 9, 7:40 p.m., 20600 block of Homestead Road. The driver of this vehicle parked in a handicap stall and used a handicap placard belonging to someone else who was not in the vehicle.
Grand theft from an auto—
April 9, 11:30 a.m., 7900 block of McClellan Road. The victim left his car unlocked and unattended for 45 minutes. When he returned to the vehicle he discovered that an unknown person(s) had stolen his laptop computer and checkbook off the floorboard.
