Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Attempted burglary—May 7, 1:40 p.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard. A woman found her front door handle broken and the door frame cracked. Though there were signs of force on the outer surface of the door, the door was not forced open. The victim didn't have any other financial loss.

Burglary—May 7, 11:30 a.m., Paradise Drive. An unknown person(s) entered the residence through a window, stole two bags and exited through the window.

Possession of drug paraphernalia—May 7, 11:14 a.m., Bollinger Road and De Anza Boulevard. A police officer was directed to a vehicle burglary in progress. Upon arrival, the officer noticed three Hispanic males using various tools in an attempt to open the passenger side door of a vehicle. None of the men said they had identification with them. The officer noticed a wallet in one of the men's back pockets and attempted to grab the wallet and the man began to flee. The officer pulled the wallet out of the man's pocket and then a glass smoking pipe flew out of the pocket and broke on the ground. The officer arrested the man and booked him into the main jail.

Residential burglary—May 7, 8:50 p.m., Leads Avenue. An unknown person(s) entered the victim's residence through a rear window on the south side of the residence. A kitchen knife was used to pry open the screen and enter the residence through the window. The burglar(s) stole $50 from the victim's purse. No other items were missing. Fingerprints were taken at the scene.
