Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Grand Theft—Aug. 14, 3:41 p.m., N. Wolfe Road. While a vehicle was parked in a lot between Aug. 7 and Aug. 9, emblems were stolen, including the right side fender emblem and the rear emblem, as well as the rear auxiliary brake light assembly. The hood ornament was partially removed and broken in half. Estimated damages are $500, and there are no suspects.

Seat Belt/Proof of Registration; Improper Use—Aug. 12, 2:45 p.m., S. De Anza Boulevard at Duckett Drive. A driver was pulled over for not wearing a seat belt, and when sheriff's deputies ran the license plate number, it came back as a lost or stolen plate from San Jose. The driver was cited and released, and the license plate was booked into evidence.

Burglary Tools; Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance—Aug. 12, 4:35 a.m., Rosewood Avenue at Olivewood Drive. A man was involved in a physical altercation with three unknown men. When he was stopped, a tan leather glove was lying nearby on the sidewalk. The man said the glove was his and the other was in his pocket. When he was searched, a black-handled chisel and two broken porcelain chips were found on his person. There were two screwdrivers and a backpack in the location where the man was fighting. He was booked into the main jail.

Residential Burglary/Attempted Arson—Aug. 11, 6:35 p.m., Lindy Lane. Unknown individuals entered a house and set a fire in the furnace, attempting to ignite the rest of the house.
