Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Petty Theft/False Information—Aug. 29, 5:20 p.m., Homestead Road at Franco Court. A juvenile entered a clothing store and took a $7.99 T-shirt from a display rack. After removing the price tags, the boy put on the shirt and then put his own shirt on top. When he attempted to leave without paying, he was placed under private person's arrest. The juvenile is on probation and provided false information on his parents, home address and telephone number.

Petty Theft (Wallet)—Aug. 29, 2:05 p.m., John Way. A victim who lives in San Jose reported the theft of his wallet from an address in Cupertino. The wallet is valued at $50, and the victim was able to cancel all of his credit cards.

Fleeing/Evading a Peace Officer; Reckless Driving; Suspended or Revoked License—Aug. 28, 7:40 p.m., Byrne Avenue at Granada Avenue. While on patrol, a sheriff's deputy saw a Honda driving on the wrong side of the road beside a Chevrolet. The deputy spoke with the driver of the Honda first, and when speaking with the driver of the Chevrolet, the driver of the Honda fled the scene at a high rate of speed. The deputy confirmed the identity of the Honda driver with the driver of the Chevrolet and discovered that the Honda driver had a no-bail misdemeanor warrant out in his name.

Petty Theft (Shoplifting)—Aug. 28, 7:20 p.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard. An individual selected an earring set and a necklace from a store and left without paying. Store security stopped and arrested the individual, who was cited and released.
