Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Petty Theft—Oct. 17, 8:10 p.m., N. Wolfe Road. An unknown person stole a victim's purse while she was shopping. Security later found the purse in a women's restroom with items valued at $179 missing. The thief is still at large.

Stolen Vehicle—Oct. 17, 7:15 p.m., Torre Avenue at Rodrigues Avenue. An elderly man parked his vehicle in a lot and later returned to find the vehicle was missing. While the man was initially unsure of which lot he had parked his car in, a search of the area for the vehicle was unsuccessful. The vehicle remains missing.

Petty Theft—Oct. 17, 4:55 p.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard at Saich Way. While shopping, a woman left her day planner unattended in her cart for approximately five minutes. She returned to find three credit cards and $120 in cash missing. There are no witnesses or suspects.

Burglary From Auto/Theft by Credit Card—Oct. 17, 9:45 a.m., Leeds Avenue. A woman received a call from her bank to inform her of suspicious credit card activity. She then discovered that someone had broken the front right passenger window of her Jeep Cherokee, which was parked in her driveway, and stolen purses containing cash and several credit cards. There are no suspects.

Burglary (Commercial)—Oct. 16, 5:25 p.m., N. Wolfe Road. A juvenile was under surveillance by store security when she was spotted placing earrings into her bag and walking out of the store without paying. The store security agent stopped the juvenile and placed her under citizen's arrest. The girl was cited and released to her parents.
