Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Unlawful Weapons—Oct. 24, 8:50 p.m., the corner of McClellan at Stelling Road. A sheriff's deputy made contact with four occupants in a parked vehicle, which smelled of marijuana. The occupants were asked to step out of the vehicle, and upon search, one juvenile admitted to having several "butterfly" knives on his person. They were found in his jacket. The boy was cited and released to his mother, and the others were released at the scene.

Petty Theft—Oct. 23, 7:50 p.m., Homestead Road. A woman was observed on closed-circuit television at a retail store, selecting a bra, underwear and shoes from the display racks. The value of the items totaled $50.96. The woman concealed the shoes by placing them in the waistband of her pants, the bra on the inside of her jacket and the underpants in her hat. A sheriff's deputy cited and released the woman on her written promise to appear in court.

Residential Burglary—Oct. 24, 6:20 p.m., N. Stelling Road at Alves Drive. An unknown person forced a window open at a vacant rental house, taking miscellaneous tools and door hardware. The burglar remains at large.

Burglary—Oct. 23, 6:10 p.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard at Saich Way. A woman concealed several items of merchandise valued at $61.51 in her purse and left the store without paying. She admitted to going into the store intending to shoplift and was booked into the main jail.
