Fight back and remove
the children from school
I wonder about the education of the educators in this story. I think that it is time to fight back and remove your children before the school can do any more harm to them.
Why haven't parents done anything? I would be right there fighting against this. Something is wrong when a fifth- grade class cannot read the Declaration of Independence.

Principal's worldview is heavy-handed and narrow-minded
Well now the entire country knows that Stevens Creek School's principal is withholding vital information—information that formed a country; information that gives vision, hope and promise today; information that is read and digested by the tens of thousands who become citizens of this country every year—valuable information.
And now she doesn't want young students to know about the founding of their country. It's time for those students and families to declare their independence from ruthless authoritarianism; to toss overboard the heavy-handed, narrow-minded world view that is this principal.
What's next? Not allowing U.S. money into school as it has God written on it? Forbidding young students access to any document, book, magazine, and Internet site with the word God in it?
The solution is simple and free. It's time for the principal to take a long vacation.

The school district can move
to Mexico, Canada or France
If your school district does not like our Declaration of Independence, Canada and Mexico are now accepting immigrant visa applications from Democrats. France has also opened its doors to the blue-state Marxists.

Your community is obviously in need of prayer and support
Your community is obviously in need of prayer and support. Today's Associated Press reported that a local school principal banned the Declaration of Independence in the classroom because it mentioned God. That is the most preposterous thing I have heard.
The idea that religion should be expunged from the public place is about as un-American as it gets. Our country and its freedoms are a gift from God as states the Constitution. Denying Him only leads to losing all He has given us. Please denounce your local principal and stand behind the teacher who has the guts to challenge political correctness.

What do you expect? It's
happening in stupid California
I lived in California for 17 years. I recently moved due to the fact that I couldn't take the stupidity anymore. A teacher being told to alter his lesson plan or even being reprimanded for teaching the Declaration of Independence to his students—is this America or am I in some third world nation?
The Declaration of Independence is what this country was founded on. It seems some people take it for granted. Well, be my guest; venture to another country—I have—and see what it is like to not to have these rights; see what it is like to not be an American.
I am 33 years old, and I remember learning all about our founding fathers and the nation when I was just a youngster, and how deeply people fought for their freedom. (Thank goodness our military still does this today.)
We said the Pledge of Allegiance every morning; we sang the national anthem every Friday. We didn't just go over the Declaration of Independence, we memorized it. We acted it out in plays. And now—I don't have children of my own—but I weep for those who do. History is an important part of this country. Don't deny our leaders of tomorrow the right to learn just because you are scared of a word that might be used a few times in an historical document.
I now live in Florida, and I mentioned this latest story to some of my co-workers and all they could say was "It's California, what do you expect?" Sad, but too true. Just reminds me again of why I left.
To Steven Williams—thank you for being an educator. Keep up the good work. Hopefully, you will be able to teach your students everything, all aspects of history (good and the bad) so they may grow to be well-rounded individuals. God knows our country needs them.
