The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.
Possession of Controlled Substance for Sale—Dec. 12, 3:20 a.m., Stevens Canyon Road at Mt. Eden Road. A man displayed objective symptoms of stimulant use, such as warm, clammy skin, eyelids that fluttered when closed and a resting heart rate of 110 beats per minute. He was found to possess powder and crystal methamphetamine and also had less than an ounce of marijuana in his vehicle. The man was booked into the main jail.
Drunk in Public—Dec. 10, 10:15 p.m., Mary Avenue at Stevens Creek Boulevard. The subject was sleeping in the driver's seat of his truck, which was parked at the Oaks Shopping Center. He was disoriented and had the smell of alcohol on his person. The man also had red, watery eyes and an unsteady gait. He admitted that he was too intoxicated to drive or walk home. He was then arrested and transported to the main jail.
Grand Theft—Dec. 10, 11:15 a.m., Mariani Avenue. Five laptops were stolen from a business between Feb. 6 and Feb. 8. The value of the laptops is $8,051.60. There are no suspects.
Identity Theft—Dec. 10, 11:40 a.m., Bret Avenue. An unknown person(s) obtained personal identifying information to access accounts in the city of Sunnyvale, and also used the victim's credit card information to obtain goods and services. The three unauthorized charges on the credit card totaled $16.49. The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety is investigating the use of the victim's identification to access city accounts. The incidents occurred between Oct. 26 and Oct. 28.
