Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Burglary (Residential)—Dec. 19, 2:40 p.m., Milford Drive. A laptop computer valued at $700 was taken from an unlocked residence. There are no suspects.

Burglary (Residential)—Dec. 19, 6:15 p.m., Larry Way. While the homeowners were out shopping, an unknown suspect entered their house by breaking a window. The individual removed jewelry, stored in boxes and plastic bags, from a dresser and a closet, and then sorted through it in the front room. The suspect eventually took approximately $9,000-worth of jewelry, but left other valuables behind.

Defrauding an Innkeeper—Dec. 19, 9:40 p.m., N. Wolfe Road. A woman and two men had dinner and drinks valuing $142.08. The woman tried to pay, but her Bank One debit Visa card was declined. The two men went to the restroom and then exited the restaurant, and the woman later left without paying the bill. The three were not apprehended and are still at large.

Grand Theft—Dec. 19, 10:45 a.m., Wheaton Drive. A homeowner noticed that $300 and a diamond ring were missing from a dresser drawer. The victim believes the theft took place between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Oct. 27 when two hired labor workers were painting the house.

Grand Theft—Dec. 18, 4:35 p.m., N. Wolfe Road. A witness saw a woman exit a retail store while carrying unpaid merchandise from the store. The store manager confirmed through an in-store inventory that clothing in the amount of $570 had been taken. There was no video surveillance, and there are no other suspects.
