The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.
Grand Theft—Jan. 17, 11:45 a.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard at Imperial Avenue. Upon arriving at work, a woman discovered that three tables, six chairs, two umbrellas and two stands had been taken from the back patio area. Four chairs were left on the patio, and none of the items were secured to the patio. A plastic sticker resembling a peace sign was placed on an exterior wall.
Strong Arm Robbery/Conspiracy to Commit a Crime—Jan. 16, 5:00 p.m., N. Wolfe Road. Loss prevention agents stopped two women for stealing a purse valued at $20. The two women then physically assaulted the agents and a mall security guard. One woman threatened to call friends to "take care" of the agents. Both women were apprehended and charged.
Second Degree Burglary/Theft with a Prior—Jan. 16, 4:50 p.m., N. Wolfe Road at Perimeter Road. As he was monitored by Loss Prevention on store cameras, a man selected a sweatshirt and tried it on in the men's activewear department. He took off the sweatshirt, and then left the store only to return 10 minutes later and attempt to shoplift the sweatshirt by placing it into a plastic bag he brought into the store. The man exited the store without paying. After he was apprehended, it was discovered the man had been sentenced for similar previous crimes.
Possession of Less than One Ounce of Marijuana—Jan. 16, 4:10 p.m., Sterling Boulevard at Barnhardt Drive. A minor was found to possess less than one ounce of marijuana at Saratoga Creek. The minor was cited and released.
