The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.
Residential Burglary—Feb. 6, 7:40 p.m., N. Blaney Avenue at Pear Tree Lane. Three housemates went out for the evening at 5:30 p.m., securing their home as they left. They returned at 7:30 p.m. to find the house ransacked. A glass window at the rear of the home was broken and used for entry and exit. Several pieces of jewelry valued in total at $1,600 were taken. There are no suspects.
Residential Burglary—Feb. 5, 9:40 p.m., Brookwell Drive. Between 6:30 and 8:40 p.m., unknown person(s) entered an unoccupied residence by breaking a bedroom window. Jewelry valued at $15,000 was taken.
Residential Burglary—Feb. 5, 9:20 p.m., Colby Avenue. An unknown person(s) entered a house while its occupants were gone by opening an unlocked kitchen window at the rear of the residence. Two bedrooms were searched, and a man's watch valued at $100 was taken while large electronic items were left untouched. There are no suspects.
Residential Burglary—Feb. 5, 7:19 p.m., September Drive. The rear bedroom window of a residence was forced open, and unknown person(s) searched the house before taking an undetermined quantity of jewelry valued at approximately $3,000.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance—Feb. 5, 11:30 a.m., Homestead Road at Bernardo Avenue. Sheriff's deputies responded to a suspicious person call to find a man who was speaking rapidly, had fluttery eyelids, clammy skin and an elevated pulse rate. The deputies obtained a blood sample, and then booked the man.
