Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Auto Theft--March 6, 9:15 p.m., N. Wolfe Road at Homestead Road. While taking a work break, a woman left her father's car keys on a table that the general public can access. When she finished her work day, she went to the parking lot and found the car missing. The keys were also missing. After the woman called the police, the CHP found the vehicle crashed on the freeway. CHP is continuing the investigation.

Marijuana Possession--March 6, 6:45 p.m., Manita Court at Rainbow Drive. An officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle with no front plate. While making a search that the driver consented to, the officer found a glass pipe in the driver's front left pocket. The driver then said he had a small bag of marijuana in his left sock. The officer recovered the bag, which contained 1.2 grams of marijuana, then cited and released the driver.

Speed Contest--March 6, 5:10 p.m., Vallco Parkway at N. Tantau Avenue. Two drivers were racing each other at speeds over 65 mph from N. Tantau Avenue and Vallco Parkway to the intersection of Vallco Parkway and Perimeter Road. One driver was arrested, cited and released, but the other could not be stopped.

Burglary (Commercial)-- March 6, 3:40 p.m., S. De Anza Boulevard. Unknown persons entered through the front door of a business and took several packages of Sudafed. A store employee asked them if they needed assistance, and they fled the scene. The responsible parties have not been arrested.
