If a tower is bad, why not ban children's cells
The Courier's March 9 story on the Monta Vista cell tower support raises an interesting question in my mind.
If parents at Monta Vista (and) Kennedy Middle School around the corner are so worried about cell phone radiation issues, then I assume they would be willing to support a ban on all cell phone use by students.
No phones allowed to be brought to school or used on campus at any time. This solution works for me.
I'm a resident of the immediate area, and while my cell phone coverage here is marginal at best, it really tanks when school lets out. That tells me that students are a big user group here.
Just as soon as they defeat any efforts at adding cell towers to improve service, I trust these "vocal parents" will turn efforts to banning student use of cell phones in my neighborhood soon.
