The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.
Assault and Battery—Oct. 15, 8:45 p.m., Avocado Place. A sheriff's officer, responding to a domestic disturbance call, witnessed a person grab and assault another person. Feeling threatened himself, the officer arrested the person on charges of assault.
Vandalism—Oct. 15, 6:25 p.m., Homestead Road. An unknown person(s) kicked the right rear panel of a 1989 Nissan Maxima, causing $400 in damage.
Criminal Threats—Oct. 14, 3:30 p.m., Judy Avenue. A 31-year-old man living at home became upset when told his mother was selling the house. He threatened to kill his mother and her cats. He then pulled a heater out of the wall and broke her metal walker.
Burglary (Commercial)—Oct. 14, 1:11 p.m., De Anza Boulevard. An unknown person(s) cut the locks to three storage areas at a furniture store. The person(s) took eight cushions valued at $1,244.
Burglary (Residential)—Oct. 14, 11:50 a.m., Quintero Court. An unknown person(s) entered a home and took a computer, jewelry, a camera and cash.
Grand Theft—Oct. 13, 2:45 p.m., N. Portal Avenue. A resident discovered three small rings had been removed from the home. The rings are valued at $2,000. The person(s) responsible are unknown and at large.
Under the Influence/Possession of Burglary Tools—Oct. 11, 4:14 a.m., Wolfe Road. A sheriff's officer stopped a person for riding a bike without a light. The person displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a stimulant. A search of the person's backpack revealed bolt cutters and pliers. The person was booked into the main jail.
