The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.
Assault with a Firearm--Nov. 12, 2:56 p.m., Johansen Drive. A man at party started a large fight after claiming he was hit in the head with a baseball bat. The person who gave the party became upset and followed the fight out into the street. The person then fired a Glock 9 mm into the air and over the heads of the fighters. The person was later arrested on charges of assault with a firearm.
Battery on Peace Officer/Riot--Nov. 11, 10:50 p.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard at Mary Avenue. A peace officer monitoring a protest at Flint Center observed a man kneel and throw eggs at a line of deputies. One egg hit a deputy in the shoulder. The peace officer then arrested the man on charges of battery, assault and riot.
Vandalism--Nov. 11, 9:45 p.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard at Mary Avenue. Approximately 20 protesters at a Flint Center demonstration rushed a patrol vehicle. The protesters threw rocks, shattering several windows in the vehicle and scraping its paint. The protestors then fled.
Burglary (Residential)--Nov. 11, 9:35 p.m., Las Onadas Way. Two persons returned home and found a side gate and rear door open. Their home had been searched and jewelry taken from a master bedroom. The person(s) responsible is at large.
Possession of Methamphetamine--Nov. 9, 2:30 p.m., Granada Avenue. A woman was stopped for selling door-to-door without a permit. She was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and had an outstanding out-of-state felony warrant and was booked into main jail.
