The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.
Armed Robbery--Dec. 31, 4:56 p.m., Homestead Road. An unknown person walked into a gas station with a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money. The person took $600 in cash and fled the scene in a turquoise Toyota with no license plate.
Vehicle Burglary--Dec. 28, 6:45 p.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard. An unknown person(s) broke the driver-side rear window and stole a black leather briefcase, a black leather jacket, a shopping bag and a box of hardware supplies. The value of the items is estimated to be $700.
Stolen Vehicle/Stolen Property--Dec. 28, 2:46 a.m., Salem Avenue. A sheriff's officer stopped three people who were trying to flee in a white sedan. The people displayed symptoms of stimulant use including sweating profusely and dilated pupils. They were also in possession of stolen property and burglary tools and were unable to corroborate a story about ownership of the vehicle. They were taken into custody.
Residential Burglary--Dec. 28, 1:46 a.m., Northcrest Square. An unknown person entered a residence through a sliding rear door. The resident heard the noise and confronted the person. The person then fled through the sliding door and remains at large.
Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance--Dec. 27, 10:54 p.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard. A sheriff's officer identified a woman who was displaying symptoms of stimulant use at a gas station. The woman also displayed symptoms of cannabis use including glassy eyes. She had a glass pipe in her purse.
Trespass--Dec. 27, 6:55 p.m., Finch Avenue. A sheriff's officer discovered a disabled vehicle in a dirt field and determined the cause to be driving through a mud puddle. The driver of the vehicle is being held liable for cleanup of off-roading and then returning to city streets.
Possession of Methamphetamine--Dec. 27, 1 a.m., Homestead Road. A sheriff's officer identified a man sitting in a vehicle in front of a closed business. A background check determined the person has $6,000 in warrants. A search of the person yielded methamphetamine. The man was placed into custody.
Residential Burglary--Dec. 26, 11:45 a.m., Stelling Drive. The evening of Dec. 25, an unknown person(s) entered a residence and stole coins and jewelry. The person(s) pried open a safe to take jewelry with an estimated value of $13,500.
