Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Soliciting without a Permit--Jan. 7, 6:30 p.m., A Cupertino resident reported a vehicle dropping off solicitors. The driver was issued a citation for soliciting without a permit from the city.

Burglary (Residential)--Jan. 7, 12:35 p.m., November Drive. An unknown person(s) entered a residence by prying a kitchen window open and then ransacked each room in the house and stole approximately $1,600 in gold jewelry.

Burglary (Auto)--Jan. 7, 12:10 p.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard. A person broke the driver's side window of a vehicle and removed a GPS system valued at $1,200. The person is at large.

Possession of Methamphetamine--Jan. 5, 10:02 p.m., Mary Avenue. A sheriff's officer stopped a truck for an expired registration. The driver had a plastic bag of methamphetamine on his lap, and the officer also found a glass pipe inside the truck. The driver was booked into the main jail.

Petty Theft--Jan. 5, 3:18 p.m., S. Blaney Ave. An unknown individual stole a baby Jesus from woman's front yard Nativity display. The value of the item is estimated to be $20.

Identity Theft--Jan. 4, 1:20 p.m., S. De Anza Boulevard. A man reported that his identity was used to purchase a Temper Pedic bed valued at $2,853 without his permission. The person responsible for the purchase is unknown.

Bank Robbery--Jan. 3, 1:01 p.m., S. De Anza Boulevard. A man entered a bank, pointed a gun at a teller and gave her a note written in Mandarin requesting $20,000. The teller gave the man a bundle of $100 bills and a bundle of $20 bills.
