Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's Westside Substation.

Burglary (Residential)--March 11, 2 p.m., Newsom Avenue. An unknown person(s) entered a residence and took two rugs, several tools and legal papers.

Burglary (Institutional)--March 11, 9:55 a.m., S. Stelling Avenue. An unknown person(s) pried open a door at the rear of a church. The person(s) unsuccessfully attempted to gain access to a partition containing $5,000 in stereo equipment. The person(s) is at large.

Burglary (Residential)--March 10, 3:30 p.m., Farallone Drive. An unknown person(s) entered a residence and ransacked the master bedroom. No property was taken.

Burglary (Residential)--March 9, 10:05 a.m., Brookwell Drive. An unknown person(s) kicked open a garage door and cut the locks on a storage box. The person(s) took about $3,000 worth of items.

Marijuana Possession--March 8, 8:59 p.m., N. Wolfe Road. A sheriff's officer stopped a vehicle for a violation and noticed a strong odor of marijuana in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded a backpack with 21 ounces. of marijuana. The two people in the vehicle were already under investigation by Calaveras County deputies.

Trespass Upon a Train--March 8, 1:30 p.m., Peninsula Ave. An officer on patrol saw three young men jump onto a train. The officer warned them through his public address system to leave the train. The men jumped off, were detained and then released.
