Sheriff's Report

The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's westside substation.

Attempted Robbery--May 20, 1:03 p.m., S. De Anza Boulevard. At closing time, a manager locked the doors to a bank. Three minutes later, a man in a hooded sweatshirt with a green bandana covering his face attempted to enter. Finding the doors locked, the man fled on foot.

Possession of Methamphetamine for Sales--May 19, 10:44 p.m., Peninsula. A sheriff's officer stopped a van for moving violations. The driver consented to a vehicle search. The search yielded plastic bags of methamphetamine. The officer booked the driver into the main jail.

Circulation of Unauthorized Money--May 18, 9:45 p.m., Wunderlich Avenue. A landlord collecting rent noticed U.S. currency and birth certificates copied onto paper in a bedroom/office. The tenant also had a laser printer. A sheriff's officer contacted the Secret Service, which, according to the report, said it was busy.

Burglary (Residential)-May 18, 2:51 p.m., Carver Drive. A woman returned home and found the bathroom window open. She found watches from a jewelry box and her X-Box360 on the living room floor. A person was found locked in the garage and then taken to juvenile hall.

Identity Theft--May 18, 2:15 p.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard. A woman reviewed her account online and noticed $1,248 in unauthorized charges made in Mexico. The person(s) responsible are at large.
