Sheriff's Report

The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's westside substation.

Felony Possession of Ammunition/Deadly Weapons--June 4, 7:04 p.m., Bandley Drive. A sheriff's officer stopped a vehicle for expired registration. The officer found 24 .22-caliber live bullets on the driver's seat. The driver's criminal history revealed he had been convicted on a misdemeanor for violence. The driver also had another person's driver's license and a baseball bat for protection. The officer arrested the driver on charges of possession of ammunition and deadly weapons.

Misuse of a Disabled Person's Placard--June 4, 11:50 a.m., Bandley Drive. A person parked in a disabled spot using his deceased mother's placard. The person was not disabled or picking up a disabled person. The person was cited and released.

Under the Influence--June 3, 1:15 a.m., Homestead Road at De Anza Boulevard. A sheriff's officer stopped a vehicle weaving between lanes. The driver displayed symptoms of being under the influence and was unlicensed. A search of the vehicle yielded a glass methamphetamine pipe. The officer booked the driver into the main jail.

Robbery--June 2, 3:55 p.m., Stevens Creek Boulevard. An unknown person(s) entered a bank and forcibly took $13,500 from three tellers. The person(s) responsible is at large.

Found Property--May 31, 3:30 p.m., Royal Oak Way. A person turned in a black leather wallet found at Royal Oak Way and Silver Oak Way. The wallet had three credit cards but no cash. The wallet and its contents have been stored at the sheriff's office as found property.

Grand Theft--May 30, 10:05 a.m., Byrne Ave. A person left construction tools under a deck over a 3-day weekend and returned to find them gone. The estimated value of the missing items is $790. The person(s) responsible is unknown and at large.

Possession of Methamphetamine--May 29, 8:21 p.m., N. De Anza Boulevard. A witness reported a person taking something from a recycle bin. A sheriff's officer contacted the person and observed him throw something under his vehicle. The person admitted to stealing from a drug store. The person also had a bag of white crystalline substance in his front pocket. The officer booked the person into the main jail.
