Public-space flowers
are not for picking

Where have all the flowers gone? I know. On Friday morning, June 2, at 11 a.m., I was amazed to see an elderly man walking among the plants in the landscaping area at the entrance to the business park at Results Way and Bubb Road. He was methodically stripping all of the petals from the yellow day lilies and putting them in a bag, evidently to take them home with him, perhaps to eat.

These plants are on private property and are placed there at the owner's expense in order to beautify the community--not to be picked for private consumption.
