Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's westside substation.
Possession of Methamphetamine--Aug. 13, Pasadena Avenue. A sheriff's officer stopped to assist an apparently stranded vehicle. A man with the vehicle displayed symptoms of being under the influence of methamphetamine. The officer searched the vehicle and found methamphetamine and a broken methamphetamine pipe. The officer arrested the man on charges of possession.
Possession of Cocaine--Aug.12, 2 a.m., Pasadena Avenue. During a traffic stop, a sheriff's officer noticed the driver had dilated pupils and kept licking his lips. The driver had a small bag of marijuana in his pocket and a search of the vehicle revealed six plastic bags or rock cocaine. The officer booked the man into the main jail.
Transporting Ecstasy--Aug. 11, 7:30 p.m., Tantau Avenue. A sheriff's officer stopped a motorcycle for speeding. During the stop, the driver lifted the seat of the motorcycle, revealing two plastic bags with 193 ecstasy pills. Also located were a pay/owe sheet and a "sidekick" phone with drug-related emails. The officers booked the man into the main jail.
Theft by ATM Card--Aug. 9, 3:05 p.m., Walnut Circle. A person noticed his ATM card missing. The person checked his bank account online and found unauthorized withdrawals of about $1,200. The person identified two people who could be responsible. They are at large.
Burglary (Commercial)--Aug. 8, 11 a.m., Pruneridge Avenue. A person(s) entered a commercial business and stole $16,800 in laptop and desktop computer. The person(s) then exited through a rear door and is at large.
