Sheriff's Report
The following incidents were culled from reports filed by deputies at the sheriff's westside substation.
Fraudulent Tabs--Sept. 16, 6:24 p.m., Alcade Road. A sheriff's officer stopped a vehicle for a violation. The driver's license had also expired. The person had also put a counterfeit registration sticker on his license plate.
Possession of Methamphetamine--Sept. 15, 8:32 p.m., Tilson Avenue. A sheriff's officer stopped a vehicle for a violation. The driver displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a stimulant. The officer found a baggie containing crystal methamphetamine in the driver's purse.
Battery--Sept. 14, 1:10 p.m., Greenwood Court. A person accused her roommate of stealing her toothpaste. The roommate tried to leave the residence but was physically prevented from doing so. The person also went through the roommate's bags looking for the toothpaste and followed her out to her car. Despite sustaining bruises and scratches, the woman drove away. The first person was cited for battery.
Possession of Marijuana--Sept. 14, 8:36 p.m., Stern Avenue. A sheriff's officer stopped a vehicle for expired registration. The officer smelled marijuana, and the driver admitted to possessing it.
The officer cited and released the driver.
Burglary (Residential)--Sept. 14. 6 p.m., Weymouth Drive. Sometime between 9 and 10 a.m. an unknown person(s) entered a home through a sliding glass door. The person took a plasma screen television and gold jewelry. The person(s) then exited through the front door and is at large. The value of the stolen property is $17,640.
